Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before renting a vehicle with Elixir Car Rental.
1. General
These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of vehicles by Elixir Car Rental, located in Palm Beach, Aruba. By making a reservation, signing the rental agreement, or taking possession of a vehicle, you accept these terms in full. Elixir Car Rental reserves the right to refuse any rental at its discretion.
2. Driver Requirements
The driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license held for at least one year. Drivers aged 21–24 may be subject to a young driver surcharge. A valid passport or government-issued ID and the credit card used for the reservation must be presented at pickup. The main driver must be the person named on the rental agreement.
3. Booking & Payment
Reservations can be made online, by phone, or at our Palm Beach office. A valid credit card is required for the security deposit pre-authorisation. Rental charges, taxes, and optional extras must be paid before or at pickup. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
4. Rental Period
The rental period is calculated in 24-hour periods. Late returns may incur additional daily charges. If you wish to extend your rental, contact us as soon as possible. Unauthorized late returns beyond the agreed period may be reported to the authorities.
5. Security Deposit
A pre-authorisation is placed on a credit card at pickup. The amount depends on the selected vehicle and typically ranges between USD 300 and USD 1,000. The deposit is released when the vehicle is returned in the agreed condition. Release times are determined by your card issuer.
6. Insurance & Liability
Basic coverage is included in the rental rate. Optional upgrades, such as full coverage with zero excess, are available at the desk. The renter remains fully responsible for damage caused by negligence, off-road driving, driving under the influence, or violation of traffic laws.
7. Fuel Policy
Vehicles are supplied with a full tank and should be returned full. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refuelling service charge will apply. We may also offer a prepaid fuel option at the desk.
8. Use of the Vehicle
The vehicle may only be used on Aruba and must not be taken off the island. Off-road driving is not permitted unless the vehicle is explicitly approved for it. The vehicle must not be used for racing, towing, or any illegal activity.
9. Cancellations & Refunds
Reservations can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Cancellations made within 48 hours of pickup may be subject to a one-day rental charge. No-shows are non-refundable.
10. Roadside Assistance
Elixir Car Rental provides 24/7 roadside assistance for mechanical breakdowns, flat tires, and lockouts. Charges may apply for incidents caused by the renter, such as running out of fuel or lost keys.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Aruba. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts in Aruba.
